5th LEONESSA QRP INTERNATIONAL CONTEST 2005

Contest Rules

 

The Italian Amateur Radio Association (A.R.I.) Brescia Club sponsors the contest with the aim to stimulate

the QRPer activity on HF and VHF bands. The contest is of the kind “contact anybody from anywhere”.

 

Date of the contest:

Sunday 25 September 2005,

-         from 06.00 to 12.00 on VHF (2 meters band only)

-         from 12.00 to 18.00 GMT  on HF (20 and 40 meters bands only)

 

Categories:

 

On VHF 4 categories:

-     (1) single operator CW fixed station;

-    (2) single operator CW portable station;

-    (3) single operator SSB fixed station;

-    (4) single operator SSB portable station;

 

On HF 2 categories:

-         (1) single operator CW;

-     (2) single operator SSB;

 

All categories shall use a maximum output power of 5 W.

 

Points:

VHF categories: each QSO counts 1 point per km of the distance between the 2 stations (QRB);

HF categories: each QSO counts as 1 point with stations of  own country; 2 points with stations of same continent and

3 points with stations of  other continents. While contacts between QRP and QRO stations are permitted/encouraged,

QRO stations have no classification. Any 2 way QRP contact counts an additional 3 points.

 

Multiplier (HF categories only):

It’s a multiplier the sum of the DXCC countries worked on each of the 2 bands (20 and 40 meters).

 

Final score:

VHF categories: the sum of all the QSO points;

HF categories: the sum of the QSO points of the 2 bands by the multiplier (worked DXCC countries on the 2 bands).

 

Log:

The log shall be sent within the 31st October 2005 to:

-         Paper logs: Sezione ARI di Brescia – P.O. Box 230 – 25100 Brescia Italy;

-         Excel or alike logs by e-mail to: aribrescia@tin.it.

The log shall include the declaration that the participant has operated in accordance to the contest rules and the station

set up (equipment and antenna system) description. Please also include your postal or e-mail address.

 

Prizes:

The top 3 stations of each category will receive a medal or plaque and the contest award that will be delivered in occasion

of the Hamfest of Montichiari  on March 2006 (prized stations will be informed on the exact date of the event).
